Our Programs

Over the years, Common Groundz has run a number of programs in service to the Lalor Park community incorporating homework clubs to gardening skills workshops. Our current programs (below) expand our mission to reach those most in need. For those involved, our programs provide opportunities to develop new skills and be meaningfully engaged in social initiatives.

You can access further information on each of our programs by clicking the "Read More" icon under each section.

If you're looking to get involved, we can be contacted across a number of different channels. Click here for our contact information.

Cafe Skills Program

Common Groundz, in partnership with Nirimba TAFE, offers a Cafe Skills course which coincides with each school term. Facilitated in the Lalor Park Community Centre, the program offers a practical training environment for people wanting to learn from an industry specialist in hospitality.

Common Groundz is proud to provide the space and support for hands-on, experiential learning.

Groundz Care

Since 2012, Groundz Care has served as an outreach program through Common Groundz that provides practical support to community members who need a helping hand.

Across 2014, Groundz Care volunteers provided over 400 individual lawn care and maintenance services across more than 60 households in Lalor Park. Well done boys!

Groundz Care is currently transitioning away from traditional lawn care services to better promote group involvement through random acts of kindness as well as broader community gardening initiatives.

As we complete this transition, the Groundz Care team are enjoying a much needed hiatus to allow the 'groundz' to lie fallow in preparation for the next season of growth.
