Cafe Skills Program

 

 

Common Groundz, in partnership with Nirimba TAFE, offers a Cafe Skills course which coincides with each school term. Facilitated in the Lalor Park Community Centre, the program offers a practical training environment for people wanting to learn from an industry specialist in hospitality.

 

Common Groundz is proud to provide the space and support for hands-on, experiential learning.

 

 

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN:

* Gaining skills to work in a café or restaurant
* Learning how to prepare and present food, make sandwiches, light meals and salads
* Gaining aspects of Work Health and Safety in the hospitality industry
* Learning how to become a barista and making delicious coffee
* Working in a diverse environment and making new friends

 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

There are no formal requirements however, priority will be given to unemployed people interested in gaining employment in the hospitality industry.

 

COURSE SPECIFICS:

Introduction to Café Skills (Certificate 1 Access to Work and Training)
The course runs one day a week over a term and includes work experience placement at Common Groundz, giving students hands on experience, creating more opportunities when seeking employment. At the successful completion of the course students will receive a Statement of Attainment. This can be used towards future education with TAFE.
